What were they thinking?

Last week local union 1947 put the nail in the coffin for nearly 850 workers. In a overwhelming vote, the union voted no on a concessions package offered by Mercury Marine. Merc. had informed the union that they could not keep doing business in Wisconsin without some cut backs. Some of the things Merc was asking for(better sit down for this), employees would not receive there 2% increase in pay for the next 2 years. Also new employees and workers called back from layoff would recivie a lower rate of pay. By the way the average hourly wage is about $20 per hour.

Now from what I understand on average the voters had 20 to 30 years in the company. Thus meaning they are pretty close to retirement. So they dont have much to lose. Here is my opinion. Wake up you lazy good for nothing union workers. You have a job, which is one step better than most of us. You get paid $20 an hour. So you dont get a raise for the next 2 years(boo hoo). And maybe you have a cutback on a few benifits. BIG DEAL. Now your looking at not having a job at all, making $0 an hour and no benifits. Dumb, dumb, dumb!!!!!

I can fix this problum for Merc. Hire me at $15 dollars an hour. My job will be to fill all your open job with employees who will all work for well under $20 an hour. This would not be a hard thing to do.

  1. I totally agree dumb people.... So you make $20 an hr for another 2 years and some of your benfits get changed, that is a lot more than a lot of people in WI have right now..... Some people are so greedy, well I am hope they are happy with what they have now.... NOTHING, ENJOY......
